Who are SRA’s clients?

A snapshot of the clientele that SRA has undertaken significant work for can be found here.

Does SRA provide consulting on how to improve environmental management performance?

SRA provides software solutions for environmental information management. SRA consultants can provide expert advice on how best to optimise these solutions to align with your business processes.

EnviroSys is the perfect tool for you to capture, collate, analyse and report your environmental information. SRA has an extensive background in environmental data management and can provide you with specific advice in this area.

What is the origin of EnviroSys?

SRA originally built an Environmental Data Management System (EDMS) for the South Australian EPA in the mid 1990s. The potential for this type of database application was then realised and the intellectual property was purchased back from the South Australian Government. The product was further developed and modernised into what we now know as EnviroSys.

What is the philosophy behind EnviroSys?

From ‘Raw to Report’, EnviroSys manages all environmental data. Flexibility is the key in its capability to monitor from single operations and projects right up to entire corporations.

Who has the need to use EnviroSys?

If you do not have a way to collect, collate, store, analyse and report your environmental data, or you’re not satisfied with using  spreadsheets and multiple databases to manage your data, then EnviroSys is for you.

Is EnviroSys a software application?

Yes, EnviroSys is a secure web-enabled software application. It utilises 3-Tier Architecture with proven database technology.

How many users can EnviroSys support?

EnviroSys licensing entitles the organisation to register an unlimited number of users within their system. A number of EnviroSys implementations currently support over 200 users. Depending on infrastructure specification, EnviroSys will manage numerous concurrent users.

How secure is my data and how is it protected?

EnviroSys provides a comprehensive security system for the protection of data. It has its own internal security model and has been externally tested via database vulnerability assessments. Additionally it has a secure web enabled framework providing accessibility for authorised users based on their security privileges.

What if I already have other systems collecting environmental data?

Should you choose to implement EnviroSys, SRA’s expert consultants will work with you to assess the options relating to data currently being held. Options generally include data migration, systems integration and systems interfacing.

Is it easily auditable?

All samples and results within EnviroSys have compulsory auditing on them. This data can never be deleted and if changed, the user is prompted to input a change reason. Auditing to the rest of the system can be optionally turned on and off. Additionally, specialised auditing functionality is available in the system and can be configured as required to assist with compliance, e.g. achieving and maintaining ISO14001.

Can I configure EnviroSys myself?

Comprehensive system training is delivered during an EnviroSys implementation. This training prepares you to configure and maintain your own system. Product Administration can be carried out by SRA should you decide that you are unable to perform this function internally.

How do I get my historical data into EnviroSys?

The EnviroSys Dataload Engine is a vital component within the software. EnviroSys training will equip you to load your data, using this facility, into the system. Alternatively, SRA can perform historical data migration during the implementation or at a later stage. However it is necessary that some data is loaded into the system during implementation in order to be able to perform user acceptance testing.

Are there different versions available?

SRA has developed versions of EnviroSys for use on either Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server databases.

What if I undertake monitoring activities that aren’t mentioned on your website?

There’s a good chance that EnviroSys can handle your monitoring data due to its flexible design. Finding your solution using EnviroSys or a custom application is SRA’s forte.

Can I create custom reports?

EnviroSys’ Custom Reporting wizard functionality allows you build your own custom reports. Clients commonly provide SRA with copies of specific report formats during the implementation project. Custom report templates can be developed within EnviroSys for the client who is then able to automatically populate and generate reports to company standards.

Is it integrated into OSCAR?

EnviroSys has the ability to consume web-services. However OSCAR does not currently provide for interaction with third-party systems.

Does SRA install and support field devices?

SRA can provide you with advice regarding the setup of a monitoring network. EnviroSys consultants are trained in the use of Campbell Scientific products and are able to support logger network applications such as Campbell Scientific Loggernet. However SRA does not supply, install and maintain field devices.

How is EnviroSys implemented?

An EnviroSys implementation is project managed and follows a fully structured methodology. The following high level phases are indicative of the process:

  • Plan
  • Requirements
  • Custom (optional)
  • Configure
  • Migration
  • Testing
  • Training
  • Go-Live

When can I have it?

A typical EnviroSys implementation takes approximately 2-3 months from kick-off to go-live.

Can I have EnviroSys as a hosted solution?

A number of current clients access EnviroSys via an externally hosted system. These systems are setup and configured solely for use by a particular client. However, in response to increasing market demand, a cloud-based subscription style service being developed by SRA will allow future EnviroSys users alternative access options.

Can SRA deliver EnviroSys outside of Australia?

Currently there are a number of EnviroSys solutions outside of Australia. SRA welcomes interest from new users and potential partners in the delivery of solutions internationally.

Do you have a local office?

SRA has offices in most states of Australia. EnviroSys solutions are currently supported interstate and internationally out of Adelaide, South Australia.

What support does SRA provide to its clients using EnviroSys?

SRA provides full service support for its EnviroSys clients via the EnviroSys Helpdesk and support mechanisms as per below.

Product Support

This service provides ongoing support for EnviroSys customers via a Service Desk function to ensure questions and issues are resolved within agreed times based on urgency and impact of each. This service also ensures all clients have the latest version of the EnviroSys product with any new functionality (major and minor) released and deployed as part of the service.

Product Administration

SRA finds that some clients prefer to focus on their core job roles and outsource the ongoing administration of the application in order to free up the resources that would otherwise be required to perform these tasks. In addition to the ongoing maintenance, through the use of ITIL Problem Management processes, SRA’s consultants undertake thorough proactive daily checks to ensure any potential issues, such as missing data feeds, are resolved before they impact the business.

Site Visits

SRA provides clients with up to four weeks of an EnviroSys consultant’s time per year as an inclusion to the Product Support agreement. Site visits are broken up into one week blocks where the client is able to choose how this time is spent, e.g. training new employees, data flow analysis.

How often is EnviroSys updated?

SRA endeavours to release a new version of the application once a year. Minor releases are offered on a more frequent basis.

Can SRA build customised enhancements to meet my specific requirements?

EnviroSys is already one of the most flexible, capable and comprehensive environmental data management systems on the market. In the event that it is unable to do all that you require, SRA will work closely with you to customise the system to meet your specific requirements using our in-house business analysis and development expertise. You can find more info here for dedicated application requirements.

Are updates included in the cost?

Product releases are at no cost to existing clients. Updates are provided as a part of the Product Support agreement.

Do you provide training?

Yes. SRA conducts comprehensive training courses as a part of any EnviroSys implementation.

How much does an EnviroSys solution cost?

Due to the variability of requirements from client to client, SRA can undertake a scoping study for your business to determine a fixed price for implementation. Please contact us directly for a no obligation estimate for your business or to enquire about a scoping study.

Are there any ongoing costs?

An EnviroSys solution does not require ongoing licensing. However an annual Product Support fee is required in order to receive the ongoing benefits that SRA provides through this agreement.

Can SRA help me with my business case for procuring an environmental data management system?

SRA has assisted numerous clients with information in support of a business case to procure an environmental data management system such as EnviroSys.
