SRA Awarded WA Contracts (September 2006)
WA Government, Dept of Industry & Resources Newsflash as posted on their Intranet site:
New Environment Approvals and Regulatory System 13/09/2006.
A major IT project has begun at DoIR that will allow the Environment Division to create a generic Environment Approvals and Regulatory System (EARS), that will progressively replace the four existing information systems (MINEDEX subset, SEB, AER and CPS) with a new web-based solution.
The successful tenderer for the project is an Adelaide based company called SRA Information Technology.
The new system will consolidate all environment related information as it relates to mining and petroleum activities, to allow for centralised reporting on key performance indicators and to streamline and improve the approvals, permits and regulatory processes.
In addition, it will be able to store or link to more complex data (spatial, photos, documents) and provide interfaces to a planned new spatial system (WARIMS) and a new corporate Customer Relationship Management service.
The EARS project is currently in the requirements analysis and design phase which is expected to be completed in December. The system implementation phase is due to start in early 2007.
