EnviroSys goes live at GEMCO (June 2010)

SRA has gone live with EnviroSys for GEMCO (Groote Eylandt Mining Company) on Australia's northern coastline. This remote manganese mining operation is a joint venture between BHP Billiton and Anglo American Corporation. The site generates its own electricity and in addition to EnviroSys' extensive functionality, GEMCO is using the software to undertake its energy reporting.

BHP Billiton Energy Coal South Africa finalises third stage of EnviroSys roll out (May 2010)

SRA has now completed implementation of EnviroSys for BECSA operations. This completes the third stage of the global roll out and follows implementations for New Mexico Coal and Mt Arthur Coal.

EARS now available to the public (March 2010)

SRA's web based solution for all environment related information as it relates to mining and petroleum activities in Western Australia is now available to the general public. The Environmental Assessment and Regulatory System, EARS as it is known, is an easy to use system that allows the tracking of mineral and petroleum environmental applications in the following areas.

  • Mining Proposals
  • Programmes of Work
  • Enivronmental Management Plans (State)
  • Environment Plans (Commonwealth)
  • Oil Spill Contingency Plans

Minedex for China and Japan (March 2010)

SRA's online Minedex application is now available in two new languages; Chinese and Japanese. Translation of the application was performed in response to a need to present Minedex abroad and in particular at the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) conference in Toronto, March 2010.  

EnviroSys implemented for BHP Billiton's Mt Arthur Coal (February 2010)

BHP Billiton's Energy Coal global roll out of EnviroSys reached another milestone as its NSW Hunter Valley operation at Mt Arthur goes live. This second phase is now complete leaving its South African operations to come.

Top 20 Innovation Awards (February 2010)

SRA has won second place in the South Australian Top 20 Innovation Awards for the most outstanding innovations since the new millenium. The showcase and awards ceremony was held on 5th February 2010 at the National Wine Centre of Australia where the state's top twenty innovators were on display, including SRA's EnviroSys solution.

EnviroSys for Local Government (January 2010)

The Adelaide City Council in South Australia has implemented EnviroSys for use as its Enterprise Energy Management System. This solution will assist the ACC to monitor and report on how their Carbon Neutral Action Plan projects are performing against key performance indicators.. The council is using the software to; capture energy data, maintain a carbon emissions inventory, analyse utility billing, generate reports and perform advanced energy modelling.

SRA implements EnviroSys in New Mexico Coal – USA (June 2009)

SRA has completed the implementation of EnviroSys for New Mexico Coal, as part of the global BHP Billiton Energy Coal roll out. This is the first stage, with South Africa and Hunter Valley to follow.

WA Mines and Petroleum Minister launches the SRA built On-line Environmental Assessment System (June 2009)

The new system allows individual companies to log on to a secure website and see whether the environmental assessment leg of their mining application — long considered the most time-consuming in the overall process — is under review by the government or another agency, on hold awaiting more information from the applicant, or has been approved or rejected.

SRA extends the NT Police software services contract (June 2009)

SRA has extended the provision of software development and support services for NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services by a further year.

SRA wins the AIIA NT award for sustainable solutions (May 2009)

SRA was the winner of the NT AIIA Awards for sustainable solutions, presented at the National AIIA Awards in Melbourne.

SRA commences the implementation of NGER data provisioning for BMA (May 2009)

SRA has commenced a project to collect and provide data for the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) requirements for BMA Coal. This project will enable BMA to comply with the requirements of the Commonwealth Government for reporting on greenhouse gas emissions and energy usage. Facilities that will be reporting activity include mine sites, port operations and corporate functions.

The NGER reporting functionality is a part of SRA's EnviroSys solution.

SRA a Microsoft Certified Partner becomes a member of SA.Net (November 2008)

SA.Net is an ICT industry cluster which brings together local software companies to engage in co-operative activities, achieve collective competitiveness and develop new opportunities for Australia's software industry. The SA.Net cluster has over 45 members and almost 700 .Net qualified staff.

SRA attended the launch of the industry group at a function attended by industry participants. Guest speakers were, Brian Cunningham, Chief Executive, Department of Trade and Economic Development and Peter Watson, Director - Software + Services, Microsoft Australia.

EICTA Gold Cup for Excellence in Engineering and Commercialisation (October 2008)

SRA Information Technology won the Electronics and ICT Association's (EICTA) Gold Cup for Excellence in Engineering and Commercialisation. On October 31st 2008 SRA's EnviroSys solution, dubbed the "clever environmental software", won EICTA's top award given to a company who with outstanding performance in taking an innovative idea through product development and onto global markets.

Platinum Winner NT Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Awards

SRA has accepted two awards at the NT ICT Awards night held on 25th October 2008. The Exporter Award given to a company who is best recognised for exporting at a National & International level and the major award, the overall IBM Platinum Winner, awarded for an organisation's overall excellence and contribution to the ICT Industry.

SRA Perth Office wins Support Contract with Department of Industry and Resources (September 2008)

SRA has signed a three year support agreement with the WA Department of Industry and Resources. The agreement covers ongoing maintenance and support for two key systems Minedex and EARS, and will also facilitate ongoing system enhancements. This follows on from the completion of the warranty milestones for Minedex and EARS with Acceptance Certificates being signed in September.

SRA Delivers on Oracle Application Express ’promise’ (August 2008)

SRA has delivered a production ready application based on Oracle's Application Express technology for the Australian Federal Government. The application provides for the capture and reporting of consolidated health indicator-based data originating from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander primary health care service providers Australia-wide. SRA has delivered a new web based solution for WA's Environment Division that consolidates all environment related information as it relates to mining and petroleum activities. The Environmental Assessment and Regulatory System, EARS as it is known, will allow for centralised reporting on key performance indicators and streamlining of the approvals, permits and regulatory processes. EnviroSys goes live at RIo Tinto Pilbara in WA (June 2008)

In 2007, SRA was selected by Rio Tinto to implement EnviroSys for Rio Tinto’s Pilbara operations comprising 13 mine sites.
This project necessitated a number of enhancements to the core EnviroSys application that will benenfit not only existing but future clients of SRA.

SRA Wins Weather Contract with Singapore (April 2008)

SRA Information Technology's EnviroSys solutions has been selected for use by Singapore’s National Environment Agency, where it will store, manage, report and present all of Singapore’s national weather data.

SRA bid for this work in partnership with NCS Pte. Ltd., Singapore’s largest IT services company. NCS is the prime contractor for the overall project, valued at around S$4.5m. Read More...

SRA Wins at the Telstra Business Awards (September 2007)

SRA Information Technology has won the 2007 Telstra Australian Business of the Year and the 2007 AMP National Innovation Award.

This follows on from wins in the Northern Territory in the State-based round of the awards, where SRA won the 2007 Hudson NT Business Award (51-100 employees), the 2007 AMP NT Innovation Award, and the 2007 Telstra NT Business Award. Read More...

SRA Awarded WA Contracts (September 2006)

A major IT project is underway at the DoIR in WA that will allow the Environment Division to create a generic Environment Approvals and Regulatory System (EARS).
