Staff Spotlight - Talking to Bhavya
This month, we turn the Staff Spotlight on Bhavya, who works as a Business Analyst at SRA. With a genuine passion for problem-solving and optimising processes, she works closely with stakeholders to bridge the gap between business objectives and technical solutions. Read her story below.
What sort of work do you do at SRA?
As a Business Analyst at SRA, my primary responsibility is to bridge the gap between the business objectives and the technical solutions. I collaborate closely with stakeholders from various departments to understand their needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and propose effective solutions.
My work involves conducting thorough analysis of current business processes, workflows, and systems to pinpoint inefficiencies or areas for optimisation. Additionally, I work on defining and documenting business requirements, ensuring they are clear, comprehensive, and aligned with organisational goals. I often facilitate communication between business stakeholders and the development team, acting as a liaison to ensure that the final solutions meet the business needs effectively.
What led you to your current role?
My journey to becoming a Business Analyst has been shaped by a combination of my educational background, professional experiences, and a genuine passion for problem-solving and optimising processes.
I pursued a degree in Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Management Information Systems and Marketing from Deakin University, which equipped me with a solid foundation in both business principles and technical skills. During my studies, I interned at Benjamin and Benjamin Insurance where I had the opportunity to work on various projects, assisting in requirements gathering, data analysis, and solution implementation.
After graduating, I joined a solar panel company as a Business Analyst, where I honed my analytical skills and gained hands-on experience in translating business needs into technical solutions. I quickly realised that I thrived in this role, as it allowed me to leverage my knack for data analysis and my ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
How has SRA supported your career?
When I began my journey at SRA as a Graduate, I often reflected on how every colleague I worked with played an integral role in nurturing my growth. In those early years, I fondly recall the unwavering support and guidance I received from my peers, who generously extended their expertise and wisdom to help me develop my skills. Their mentorship was akin to holding my hand like a baby through each step of the learning process, instilling in me a sense of confidence and competence. I am deeply grateful for the nurturing environment at SRA, where I was embraced as a newcomer and empowered to flourish into the professional that I am today.
What do you love most about working in tech?
In short and sweet words, I love the ever-evolving nature of tech and it is like a pool with endless possibilities.
What has been the most satisfying thing you’ve done at SRA?
I think the most satisfying thing there is, is when we do the client handover and the appreciation from our clients.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Well, I am good at Social Media Management and Digital Marketing and have been doing some volunteer work for friends and family’s businesses. I really want to learn how to play the guitar and hence having been taking guitar lessons. I also like to spend my time in the gym and strength training, so that I can have all the food in the world and have a balanced perspective on fitness.
